During the months of November and December, the Community Center served as a drop-off point for both SAFE (Stuffed Animals For Emergencies) and Loudoun Community Holiday Coalition, "Neighbors Helping Neighbor's" program. The community response for both organizations was tremendous. Two big bins weren't enough to hold all the donated toys, gift cards, clothes and food. There were also two truckloads of gently used items that were donated to SAFE. BCA staff work space became cramped with each delivery, making it more challenging to walk around the office.
During the Santa Holiday Coalition Run, Loudoun Community Holiday Coalition and Arcola Pleasant-Valley Volunteer Fire Department came out in full force. Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with two fire engines, two ambulances (one pulled Santa's sleigh), two EMS and two fire vehicles paraded throughout the neighborhood collecting even more toys, food and clothes. They were able to bring smiles to many faces while supporting a wonderful cause.
Thank you to everyone who donated and for helping make Christmas possible for those less fortunate families in Loudoun County.
