Brambletonian Designer Selected for New York’s 2012 Kips Bay Decorator Show House - When an e-mail from famous New York interior designer Bunny Williams showed up in her inbox March 27, Raji Radhakrishnan knew the news was good. The designer, based in the Brambleton neighborhood of Loudoun County, had been selected to participate in New York’s 2012 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, akin in the design world to winning an Oscar.  “I almost fell off my chair,” says Radhakrishnan. (It was a vintage art deco desk chair, by the way.) She had submitted her portfolio to the Kips Bay committee for several years but had never been chosen. “For a designer, I don’t think it can get better than this.”  Read more here: http://ht.ly/bwNZc

An Open Invitation to President Obama
“Dear Mr. President,
We read in the Washington Post about your outings to Ray’s Hell Burger in Arlington and The Dairy Godmother in Del Ray.  We love the fact that you like to get out and explore Washington area restaurants, but it strikes us that red meat and frozen custard aren’t exactly the healthiest of fare.  So in the interest of helping you maintain a balanced diet, we invite you to come try the fish of the day at the Blue Ridge Grill in Brambleton.”  Read more here: http://ht.ly/biYRR

Father’s Day in Loudoun County
Last month we gave you ideas for celebrating Mom, and now it’s Dad’s turn!  Whether you have an active, sport-loving Dad, or a laid back Dad, there’s plenty to do as a family this Father’s Day in Loudoun County. But before you head out, don’t forget to stop by Brambleton Town Center for a gift! Perhaps he’d like a Martial Arts class with the kids at Dragon Yong-In, or a new pair of kicks from The Next Step? If he’s a wine guy, stop by The Virginia Wine Factory. Or when was the last time Dad had a nice dinner out? Take him to Blue Ridge Grill for a steak and a beer!  View more great ideas for Father’s Day in Loudoun here: http://ht.ly/btVFC

The Bullseye of America’s Internet
AshburnVirginia is a small town that Internet people think of as a giant city. They toss around "Ashburn" as if it were London or Tokyo, and often in the same sentence. The reason why lies behind an Embassy Suites hotel in an unmarked complex of buildings owned by a company called Equinix. The Internet works because every network is connected, somehow, to every other. Where do those connections physically happen? More than anywhere else in America, the answer is "Ashburn." This is the bullseye of America's Internet.  Equinix Ashburn is the extreme logical opposite of the Internet's standard proposition: if most days we count on the Internet to let us be anywhere, this is the place where the Internet connects to the earth. It is the seam between the global brain and the geologic crust.  Read more here: http://ht.ly/bj8HO
