Things to Do in Loudoun County this Summer

This summer has already proven to be record-breaking in the temperature department, and now we’re on the search for fun things to do to survive this heatwave. From outdoor concerts to wine tastings and even doggie events, Loudoun County is where the fun begins this summer!

1. Brambleton Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series
Brambleton invites the community to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy live music while catching up with neighbors on select Thursday nights throughout the summer. Each night will have a different theme with a pre-concert activity and giveaway for children starting at 6:30 pm. Concerts begin at 7 pm. 

When: July 19 – Aug 16, 6:30pm

Cost: FREE

2. Pat Sommers’ Acoustic End of Summer Celebration
Pat Sommers' Rock Shop is an audition-only music program for talented teens in the Northern Virginia area.  This program assembles young musicians in bands that come together to learn and play great covers of all your favorite music (from the 70s to today) plus write original songs as well.  Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic to enjoy a night of great music by rising stars.

When: August 25, 2012, 7:30-9:30pm 
Where: Brambleton Town Center Amphitheatre
Cost: FREE

3. Adopt a Dog Day
An afternoon of wine tasting, BBQ, live music, and puppy love! Get a free bottle of wine with each adoption.

When: July 14, 2012, 2-6pm
Where: Goose Creek Farms and Winery, 18050 Tranquility Rd, Purcellville, VA 20132
Cost: FREE

4. Acoustic on the Green
Enjoy Historic Leesburg's weekly summer concert series on the Town Hall Green.
When: July 14 – August 25, 7-9pm
Where: 25 West Market St, Leesburg, VA
Cost: FREE

5. Loudoun County Fair
Carnival rides, fried food, bull riding and pig-kissing contests. Yep, we’re talking about the Loudoun County Fair.

When: July 23 – July 28, 9am-9pm
Where: Loudoun Fairgrounds, 17558 Dry Mill Rd. Leesburg, VA 20175
Cost: $10 adult, $5 child

Brambleton Town Center has tons of ways to keep you cool this summer. Chill out with an iced coffee from Caribou Coffee or a few scoops at Cold Stone Creamery or stop by Misguided Angels for some cute summer dresses for those outdoor concerts. And don’t forget the sunscreen! Harris Teeter has all the SPF you need right at Brambleton Town Center.
