What's Trending in Brambleton - August Edition

Hanson Park Design Concepts - The design team developed a strategy to prepare the master plan and incorporate input from county residents and community groups. To date, there have been three public input sessions where the design team met with the community to present ideas, solicit feedback, and incorporate shared concepts into evolving iterations of the master plan for the park. Totally 80's Sizzlin' Summer Concert - Come dressed in your best 80's attire at the next concert on Thursday, August 16th, featuring 80's band, The Reflex. Brambleton prize packs will be awarded to the best dressed adult and best dressed kid! The first 200 kids will receive free 80's fashioned sunglasses. This is a BYOB event, beer and wine only. ID's and coolers will be checked at the gate. The previously canceled Kelly Bell Band concert has been rescheduled for Thursday, August 23rd at 7:00 p.m.

Volunteers Needed for Kids Triathlon - We are very excited about the First Annual Brambleton Kids Triathlon, which will be held on Saturday, September 1st. There will be 160 kids participating, and in order for this event to run as smooth as possible, we could use your help! If you are able to lend a hand for one or two shifts, please take a moment to register here:

Ø  An open invitation to eat, drink and be merry more affordable - La Cucina is participating in the Restaurant Week Metro DC from August 13th – 19th.  Click here for more details:
Ø Johnny Rockets is in association with Volunteers of America, a collection point for "Operation Backpack". Their mission is to help homeless children get the necessary items to go back to school. You can help by stopping by their restaurant anytime during business hours and drop off school supplies: backpacks, notebooks, paper, pens, etc. Last year, there were more than 8,000 new filled backpacks from drives across the country. Getting an education stands as the number one problem affecting homeless children, but our community can band together to provide the supplies they need to get an education every child deserves.

Brambleton’s Park & Ride Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - Supervisor Janet Clarke officially opened Brambleton’s Park & Ride at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday July 20th.  Bus service began Monday, July 23rd, to Rosslyn and Washington, DC.

Rail Bridges in Tysons Finished This Month - Hailed as a major milestone in the path toward a mid-summer 2013 construction completion of the long-awaited Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, the last span of concrete segments of the bridges for rail in Tysons Corner has been lowered into place by a 365-ton horizontal crane.  Go to for more information.
