Meet the Builder - Jerry Catron from Van Metre Homes

We recently asked Jerry Catron of Van Metre Homes to share his thoughts on Brambleton and why he thinks this Ashburn, Virginia community is such a desirable place to live.
What is your favorite feature about your model home?
My favorite feature of the Woodview Collection at Brambleton is that the product line offers a first floor bedroom and full bath in all three models.
What is your best memory of the home you grew up in?
My mother and her 11 siblings were born in a house that was approximately 600 square feet with no running water, no electricity and no indoor plumbing. My Grandfather pulled a blacksmith shop over frozen ground and attached it the house as a kitchen.  The house is still standing tall after early 130 years and it still remains in the family.
If you were given an extra $10,000 for a home improvement, how would you spend it?
I would upgrade all the kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Brambleton and why?
My favorite restaurant would have to be Nick’s Mediterranean Grill. I am a Greek freak and have fond memories of Greece.
Explain your most memorable connection or moment with a homebuyer?
My most memorable connection with a homebuyer would be the fact that they still live in the home I sold to them in 1977 for $85,000 - contracts were just on one page then!  It was a Calvert Company brick front home with no options.
Why do you think Brambleton is one of the top selling communities in the entire nation?
The Developer planned a wonderful community and selected builders who would create exclusive and innovative designs for prospects.  There is an obvious value to the community as you drive through.  The return on investment is high in Brambleton, better than in any other community.
If Brambleton sounds like the kind of place you’d like to call home, stop by and say hi to Jerry today. For more information on Brambleton, please click here.
