New Growth at Brambleton

Virginia’s gardens may be waiting for spring to burst forth with new growth, but Virginia’s most vibrant community isn’t waiting that long. Brambleton, a Soave development in the suburbs of Washington, DC, has opened two new neighborhoods, Emerald Ridge and The Overlook, within the master-planned community. An anticipated over 900 new homes will be built in these sections over the next several years.

Van Metre Homes, a Washington area award-winning firm, and Camberley Homes, a division of Winchester Homes, joined the select roster of builders in these new neighborhoods. Van Metre Homes offers innovative designs, excellent craftmanship and solid value to The City Towns at The Overlook and The Manor Collection at Emerald Ridge. Camberley Homes brings contemporary townhomes to the heart of Brambleton's Town Center. Camberleys’ Boulevard at Brambleton development will feature loft options, coveted roof terrace space and rear load garages.

Within the business portions of Town Center, activity and expansion continues on as well. “Sport & Health Club, a 38,000 sq ft fitness building, is currently under construction and is anticipated to open in summer 2010,” reveals Kim Adams, Brambleton’s Director of Marketing. “Additionally, Insight Eye Optique and Caliente Mex-Sea Kitchen & Bar opened this January and are great additions to the Town Center!”

Personal and community growth can’t be ignored at Brambleton either. On March 20, 2010, Brambleton will host a 5K Ribbon Run/Walk to benefit breast cancer research. Specifically, the event will benefit the Step Sisters, a team of Brambleton neighbors who have joined together to fight breast cancer by participating in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk. Adams confirms the day-long celebration will include a vendor fair, community shred and sidewalk sales all day long. “This is the team's fourth year fundraising for the cause and they have been among the top ten fund raising teams in our region raising more than $250,000. We wish them luck once again.”

Bringing You Our Business - BYOB

Introducing You to The Brambleton Town Center's Resident Business Owners

Zachary A. Casagrande, DDS, MS - Northern Virginia Orthodontics

How long have you been living in Brambleton, and why did you decide to move here?
We’ve been in Brambleton for almost four years now. Interestingly, we initially looked at the area to open my orthodontic practice before we thought of living here. After many visits to the site of where the town center would be, numerous appointments and meetings with the landlord and developers, my wife and I fell in love with the neighborhood. We ended up living here before my practice opened.

What compelled you to start a business here in Brambleton?
I grew up in Reston and knew that I wanted to come home to the Northern VA area following my residency. Loudoun County has more growth than anywhere else in the US….perfect for growing an orthodontic office. There are lots of young families who care about their health and that of their children. Parents in this area want their children to have the best when it comes to their dental health, function, and smile. Brambleton was particularly appealing because of its central Loudoun location and access to surrounding areas. Plans for the town center fit right in with the vision of my office.

What are some of the challenges of owning a business in the community where you live?
Definitely not the commute. I think many of my patients who live in Brambleton like the fact that they already know my family, their kids are in school with my kids and are involved in the same sports and activities. I enjoy seeing how happy patients are as their treatment progresses…in the office or out of the office.

How do you differentiate your business from the competition?
We have treated the most Invisalign and Invisalign Teen patients in the entire county. Invisalign is a way of moving teeth and changing bites with clear, more esthetic and more comfortable appliances. We pride ourselves on providing patients with the best possible care and service in the area. Our staff has over 80 combined years of orthodontic experience-all members of our team are extremely competent and caring!

Describe your vision of Brambleton in the next 5 years, and where do you see your business?
I see Brambleton continuing its growth both in the residential and commercial areas. It’s already a great place to live and raise a family….I think it will only get better!

Brambletonians Big Give

During the months of November and December, the Community Center served as a drop-off point for both SAFE (Stuffed Animals For Emergencies) and Loudoun Community Holiday Coalition, "Neighbors Helping Neighbor's" program. The community response for both organizations was tremendous. Two big bins weren't enough to hold all the donated toys, gift cards, clothes and food. There were also two truckloads of gently used items that were donated to SAFE. BCA staff work space became cramped with each delivery, making it more challenging to walk around the office.

During the Santa Holiday Coalition Run, Loudoun Community Holiday Coalition and Arcola Pleasant-Valley Volunteer Fire Department came out in full force. Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with two fire engines, two ambulances (one pulled Santa's sleigh), two EMS and two fire vehicles paraded throughout the neighborhood collecting even more toys, food and clothes. They were able to bring smiles to many faces while supporting a wonderful cause.

Thank you to everyone who donated and for helping make Christmas possible for those less fortunate families in Loudoun County.
