A Brambleton Story - Meet the Ladner/Cleveland Family

"We are very excited to be a part of the Brambleton community. We were very familiar with Brambleton, especially with the Town Center, as we lived down the road in the Broadlands for the past six years. The Broadlands is a great community, but with the birth of our second child we were in need of more space. So began our search for a single family home. We visited most of the new developments between Ashburn and Frederick, MD, where I commute three days a week. We saw many nice houses, but for one reason or another most were not a good fit for us. Truth be told, we were not expecting much the first time we entered the Pulte Homes model that would eventually be our home. However, the interior blew us away as it had everything that we had been looking for with an upstairs layout that is hands-down the best (for us!) that we had seen. Most importantly, for the first time we were not just visiting a nice house but rather a place where we could envision raising our family and making memories...a home.

Yes, we love the house, but the real selling point for us is that it is a great community to raise our family. We were already used to frequenting the Brambleton Town Center, where our gym, a couple of go-to restaurants, coffee shop, favorite movie theater and my son's favorite toy store are located. Now these places are even closer! We have already met many very nice new neighbors. My husband and I have reminisced about the days from our own childhoods when neighbors knew each other and looked out for each other and whole streets would occasionally be blocked off for neighborhood block parties. Low and behold, not two weeks after we moved in we were invited to the neighborhood block party! From what we hear, there are many such activities in the community. We look forward to getting involved and making new friends!"

A Loudoun Wedding

With the bite of crisp air and beautiful changing autumn leaves, fall weddings are especially stunning on the east coast. Loudoun County, located in the heart of Virginia’s horse and wine country, plays a perfect backdrop for the bride and groom. Not only is it a destination of unparalleled charm, but its convenience to Washington, DC makes it easily accessible for guests as well.

Pre-Wedding Activities
With so many pre-wedding activities in Loudoun County, there’s no reason to limit the festivities to just a ceremony and reception. At recreational culinary school Cookology, in Sterling, VA, the bride, family and friends can create their own delicious meal and then enjoy it in Cookology’s dining room. It’s a fun and different option for the bachelorette party, because while there is still the social aspect of eating and drinking, it’s far from the usual girls-night-out. Or, head to Rogue Spa in the historic town of Leesburg. The services offered there are sure to awaken, restore and refresh the bride and her wedding party.

Just minutes from Route 7, The Brambleton Regional Park is a perfect venue for a smaller scale outdoor wedding. The peaceful outdoor pavilion overlooks a golf course and creates a romantic atmosphere. The historic George C. Marshall International Center is another great option for a larger event. Western Loudoun also offers a growing selection of beautiful vineyards that are worth the extra drive. One in particular is Douk√©nie Winery, 20 miles from Leesburg. Their gorgeous and newly expanded events space makes for an ideal wedding location. The beautiful landscape as a backdrop is sure to create an event to remember, regardless of the season.

Fusions Cuisine near Brambleton, VA prides itself on ingredient-driven, innovative recipes using the freshest components available. Fusions provides memorable flavors and unique dining experiences perfect for any bride’s “Big Day.” Fusions Cuisine is able to personalize the culinary experience with one-of-a-kind signature menus for each of their catered weddings. Tuscarora Mill Restaurant, located in a restored mill in the historic district has been hosting memorable wedding events for more than 20 years. They’ve held engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and small receptions. They too offer custom tailored menus for engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and small receptions. Their bakery is known for their delicious and impressive wedding cakes as well.

Brambleton's 2nd Annual Cacher's Corner Event - Geocachers Log Comments

On Saturday, September 24th, our caches went live in the neighborhood for our 2nd Annual Cacher’s Corner Multi-Cache Event! After the hunt, Cachers enjoyed refreshments, swapped stories and traded coins at the Brambleton Welcome Center. Here are just a few of the comments they left on

I'd never thought about Brambleton much before this event. The layout of the four event caches left and right of Belmont Ridge Road, with the Welcome Center as the meeting place, is perfect for giving a newcomer a tour of the whole area's housing, recreational and shopping offerings. We started down south at Carpool's are Cool and worked out way north. Nicely done -- thanks for putting this event together.

This was a fun event. Tilly the weiner dog and I attended with fredr1c. We found the four new caches, received our geo-coins and then went on to find four more local caches. Luckily the forecast rain held off and it turned out to be quite a nice evening. Thank you for organizing this excellent event. We enjoyed ourselves.

Thank you so much for putting on this event for a second year. To the cacher hiding them: thank you for the fun and to the Brambleton Welcome Center staff and everyone in Brambleton that supports this project you are awesome. We had lots of fun wandering through the area and then came back to pick up the coin after doing a bit of shopping. I was excited to have won a gift card for the shopping area on the big wheel. We turned around and went right out for dinner then. It was great food and we have found a new place we will be comming back to eat again.

Thank you again for putting this event on and the coins are beautiful.

This was my first event. Accomplished the 4 cache challenge and got my Event Coin. Looking forward to doing another event.

Great to meet other geocachers. Hurrah for Brambleton... nice little town. Already looking forward to next year's hunt.

Very nice to see everyone there today! Thanks Brambleton, the coins are lovely!

Thanks for hosting this event! We were on vacation for this last year and were glad to be able to stop in to say hi this year. We picked up the caches in the morning and then stopped by the event and got our awesome geocoin. Can't wait for another one of these events next year.

Nice event. Thanks for hosting it.

Found the 4 caches and passwords and headed to the welcome center. Met a few cachers on the way, both newbies and well-experienced. This was my first Bambleton experience and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for having this event.

Find #7634 @ 1643 on Saturday, 24 September 2011. This was cache number 11 of 11 total finds. And a Big Thanks for placing goes to Brambleton.

Stopped at home for gpx files for these and headed down to find a few caches and head to the event ... thanks for all the work that goes with setting up an event like this ... it sure is great seeing old friends and meeting new cachers ... can't wait til next year ...

Stopped in for a few minutes.Met some fellow cachers, swapped some stories.Got a Geocoin, spun the wheel, won a t-shirt.thanks for the good time - Find # 535.

Metro is mapping out some big changes. Next summer, the transit agency plans to realign the Yellow, Blue and Orange lines. It is all part of the plan to make way for the new rail line to Dulles. To Metro’s surprise, the designer of the map is suggesting the Dulles rail line be cherry blossom pink, although it has long been referred to as the Silver line.
