Brambleton's Silver Line Station Ad
All Aboard!  Dulles Metro's Phase I Silver Line is Now Open!
Were you one of the lucky ones to ride the first train on the Silver Line?  The region was flush with silver as Metro's newest rail line opened for service on Saturday, July 26th. Over 25,000 Silver Line riders helped make this historic Opening Day memorable. Wagfest II:  Saturday, August 16th
Who are the cutest dogs in Northern Virginia?  Find out when Northern Virginia Magazine’s Wagfest returns to the Brambleton Town Center on Saturday, August 16th, 1:00 – 3:00 PM.  Their Dog Days of Summer contest has drawn to a close and the Top 3 winners will be announced at this year's event which will kick off with a Mutt Strut around the Town Center Plaza at 1:15 PM, followed by raffle prizes valued over $200, tips on summer pet safety from Sit Means Sit, vendors, live music, a giant lawn sprinkler (aka, a fire truck hose-down!), refreshments from Honest Tea, and the announcement of this year’s contest winners.

Brambleton's 2012-2020 Community Vision Update
After more than 18 months of planning, discussing, evaluating and revising, the Developer is ready to move forward with the 2020 Vision and submitting these applications to the Loudoun County Planning Commission in September.  We would like to thank you for your comments and participation in this process.  

We still have several hurdles to overcome and with your help we hope to successfully add many of the elements that were discussed during the community wide meetings.  Of particular note, the first applications will include a new high school, middle school and expediting the 3rd elementary school.  For further information, please click here.  Comments are welcome to be submitted to

Canine Casting Call for the 2015 Pawsitively Brambleton Dog Calendar is now closed!  The Brambleton Group was overwhelmed with the great response of dog photos, receiving over 75 entries for the 2015 Pawsitively Brambleton Dog Calendar.  The big task now begins for the Brambleton Marketing Department who will try to narrow it down to their top 25 entries and will post those top 25 photos on Brambleton's Facebook page for fans to vote for their favorites.  The 12 entries with the highest number of votes will then be featured in next year’s calendar.  Wishing all those who submitted entries good luck!

Brambleton Community Association News
Bus Driver Needed – Brambleton now has a Community Bus.  The BCA is looking to hire a friendly and experienced bus driver with a VA CDL driver’s License with a Passenger (P) endorsement.  This person should be customer service oriented, able to work a flexible schedule with nights and weekends, and should be able to work independently.  Applications and other position related questions can be emailed to Beth Huck. Congratulations to the Brambleton Bettas Swim Team on their Most Successful Season Yet
The Bettas went undefeated in their regular season dual meets, and won both the ODSL Divisionals Meet and All Star Meet!  The 2014 Bettas broke 62 team records this season, sent a league-high 55 swimmers to the All Star Meet and had one swimmer - 6 year old Addison Zerkle - break the League record for 6 and Under Back Stroke!  Congratulations to all of our swimmers and coaches on an incredible season, and thank you to the entire community and HOA for your support. Go Bettas!

Rock Ridge football gets to work
When Pat McNanley, the athletic director at Rock Ridge High School, began the hiring process for the first head football coach in the school’s history, he had several attributes in mind.

"The main thing was, and it was with all of our [head coaching] positions, we wanted to make sure the person was a really good teacher,” McNanley said. “That was the most important thing, as well as a good role model for our kids and having good morals and ethics.”

McNanley had more than 50 applicants for the position at Loudoun County’s 14th and newest high school, which draws its students from those recently in the Briar Woods, Broad Run and John Champe attendance zones. McNanley said it wasn’t an easy process, but in the end, one person stood out above the rest.  Click here to read more.

Carpe diem, Loudoun: Biz leaders urge action on potential Silver Line development
Loudoun business leaders are calling on the county to prepare for the coming Silver Line extension now with an investment in infrastructure, marketing and land use studies that will spark an economic boom later.

The Economic Development Advisory Commission, whose members include representatives of B.F. Saul, West Dulles Properties Inc., Hunton & Williams, Bechtel Corp. and George Mason University (among many others), is urging the Loudoun board to seize the day, before it's too late. The plea comes as the board prepares to take the next step in a comprehensive plan update for the Silver Line station areas.  Click here to read the full Washington Business Journal article.

Five Things to Know About Silver Line’s Next Phase
The red ribbon has been cut and Phase I of Metro’s long-awaited Silver Line is now open.  Residents can now look forward to the completion of Phase II, which will take them all the way to Dulles International Airport and into Loudoun County. The expected completion date is in 2018.  Click here to find out some things to know about the next next 11-mile phase, which is expected to cost $2.9 billion.

Metro’s Station-Naming Process for Loudoun to Begin by Fall
In May, the Urban Land Institute urged the Loudoun Board of Supervisors to move forward with the creation of desired names for the county’s future Metro stations for branding purposes.
